The best way to dupe items is this:

1 - Online Host/Receiver
2 - #2 Controller/Giver
3 - Giver drops item(s) to be duplicated
4 - Host/Receiver picks up item(s)
5 - Host Kicks #2
6 - Now both heroes have the items
